The Lewis Science Library is scheduled to open in time for the start of classes in fall 2008. The new science library will consolidate the Astrophysics, Biology, Chemistry, Geosciences, Mathematics and Physics libraries, and will also include the Map Collection and Digital Map and Geospatial Information (GIS) Center. The library is named for Peter B. Lewis '55, trustee of the University, who provided the funding to support the construction and programs of the new science library at Princeton and it was designed by Frank Gehry.
